Journey Through Design: From Montreal to Orlando.
I discovered my passion for design amidst Montreal’s vibrant cityscape. The city’s festivals, architecture, and design ethos taught me to believe in creativity, honoring history, location, and architecture while pushing design boundaries. Inspired by its dynamic culture, I pursued a degree in Creative Arts in College and a bachelor’s in Design Art at Concordia University.
After graduation, I moved to Dallas, Texas, where I honed my skills at Kalogridis, collaborating on custom textiles for prestigious aircraft projects. My fluency in French allowed me to expand the company’s reach to collaborative projects with renowned European designers and French aircraft companies. My color and custom pattern design skills developed, and I left my role with a passion for manufacturing and strong project management skills.
I transferred those skills to the product development and manufacturing of luxury home furnishings for Lam Lee, diversifying my experience working with materials like wood, metal, crystal, glass, stone, textiles, and trims. I traveled the globe, deepening my love for design and architecture.
Hotels became “home” for much of my career at Lam Lee; this is where and when I developed a passion for hotel design.
Family life, after my daughter suffered a stroke at birth, reshaped my perspective and fueled my dedication to accessibility and wellness. It was a challenge that arrested my travel and forced me to focus on solutions; I started a company to work freelance from home, and in 2017, I located the ideal school for her in Winter Park, Florida. Once settled, I sought to return to design in a new capacity. I registered for the Interior design bachelor’s degree at Seminole State College of Florida and started studying to pass the WELL AP exam.
Life is full of challenges, but I see everything through a lens of possibility and progress and I feel most myself when using my intellectual and creative skills to solve problems.
Design, like life, offers no place for rigidity, only constant evolution, and I am excited to see how my journey unfolds.
Certified as a Well AP and with degrees from Seminole State College and Cornell University in Interior design and hotel planning, I'm committed to crafting transformative, experiential spaces with Universal and WELL design principles.
I aim to create multifaceted, experiential hospitality, commercial, and residential environments that inspire, uplift, and empower their inhabitants while I pursue my NCIDQ certification.
